BlockWP is the free WordPress theme for blog, news and magazine sites. This theme is based on customizer, it has added custom widgets and one-click demo importer.

Moreover, BlockWP is a lightweight, minimal, and easy to use the theme. Follow this theme documentation to know how to use BlockWP.

See the customize style button and click it.

Theme Installation

Via WordPress

Log in to the WordPress Administration Panels.
Go to the Appearance panel, then Themes.
Search theme BlockWP.
After installing the theme Click Activate button.

Via FTP

Use your FTP software to browse to the wp-content/themes folder.
Extract blockwp.zip and upload the folder.
Once it’s uploaded, go to your WordPress Admin, browse to Appearance > Themes.
Click the Activate link.

Why my Images are not in Actual like the demo?

Well, every theme has its own size of images used. If you are using this theme for your existing site, you need to regenerate the size of the image.

Go to Admin Dashboard
From plugins click on Add New
Search Regenerate Thumbnails Plugins and Install it
From tools go to Regenerate Thumbnails and click on Regenerate Thumbnails.

Recommended Image Size

The size for the slider and other places should be 1170 width 574 height minimum. If you are using the images smaller than this size, the image will not look good.

How to create a post?

To create a post on your site, it’s easy. Follow the below-listed methods.

Go to Administration Panels
Go to Posts and Click on Add New
Give the title of the post and add the content
Set the featured image for the post from the right corner.
Set that post in the Category.
Click on Publish Button.
Add more posts like the above methods.

Note: Don’t miss to add the featured image on the post. Otherwise, the default image will be displayed on the site. You can hide that default image from the settings. Appearance > Customize > BlockWP Theme Options > Extra Options.

Image is not showing on the post?

While creating a post, you need to add the featured image, otherwise, the default image will appear on the widgets.

If the featured image is missing on the post, you need to add the featured image to the respected post.

When the featured image is missing, the default image will appear.

Edit the Post
On the bottom right corner, you will see the featured image section.
Add the Image and Update the post.
After adding the image, the front view will have the image.

Why my website is slow?

There are various reasons for the site becomes slow. Thus, you need to understand the reasons for it.

You need better web hosting.
Minimize the plugins used.
Reduce redirection.

How to make a Page?

To create a page on your site, it’s easy. Follow the below-listed methods.

Go to Administration Panels
Go to Page and Click on Add New
Give the title of the page and add the content
Set the featured image for the post from the right corner.
Click on Publish Button.
Add more pages of the above methods.

How to add categories?

To create categories, follow the below steps.

Go to Administration Panels
Go to Posts > Categories
Give the title of the category
Click on Save
The added category will appear on the Add Post Page.

Widgets – Make Home Page Like Demo

BlockWP Comes with Added Custom Widget for home page widget area and sidebars. There is a total of 9 custom widgets.

From Appearance > Customize > Home Page Widget Area

This theme has Sidebar area inside Appearance > Customize > Widgets. You can add the available widget inside there.

Site Title, Tagline & Logo

Go to Appearance > Customize > Site Identity
Click on Select Logo
Select the logo.
If the preview is fine, click on Save & Publish to save the changes.

Top Header Options

Go to Appearance > Customize > BlockWP Theme Options > Top Header Options

Menu Section Options

Go to Appearance > Customize > BlockWP Theme Options > Menu Section Options

Featured Slider Section

Go to Appearance > Customize > BlockWP Theme Options > Featured Section

Sidebar Options

Go to Appearance > Customize > BlockWP Theme Options > Sidebar Options

Blog and Archive Page Options

Go to Appearance > Customize > BlockWP Theme Options > Blog Section Options

Single Post Options

Go to Appearance > Customize > BlockWP Theme Options > Single Post Options

Note: If the sidebar is not working properly after you enabled Adsense or Adsense alternatives, you can disable this sidebar for the better performance.

Go to Appearance > Customize > BlockWP Theme Options > Footer Options

Extra Options

This section includes for the preloader, breadcrumb section, front page content hide, default thumbnail removal, hide post format icons, hide reading time, reading time per words, etc.
